Patch-type dressings with superabsorbent

The last decade has seen a rethinking of many concepts regarding topical wound treatments, with significant advances in the development and production of dressings. According to modern thinking, a dressing should be selected not only based on the type and characteristics of the wound but also be easy to use and ensure a high quality of life for the patient.

Currently, most practicing surgeons do not doubt that a modern wound plaster used for treatment should:

  • irreversibly remove detritus, microbial particles and excess exudate;
  • protect the wound from drying out;
  • stimulate reparative processes in the wound;
  • protect the wound from mechanical influences,
  • chemical irritation and secondary infection;
  • do not disrupt blood circulation and oxygenation of the wound edges;
  • do not have adhesive properties;
  • The bandage should be comfortable for the patient.

The wound dressing is a combination product consisting of a non-woven adhesive-backed fixing element and an absorbent non-woven pad. The material used to make the dressing allows the skin to "breathe," while the hypoallergenic adhesive leaves no residue, allowing for easy and painless dressing changes.

The core of this superabsorbent dressing is an absorbent pad made of an innovative material. This pad absorbs and retains large amounts of wound exudate. With an absorbency of 1300 g/m², this dressing has unparalleled absorption capacity. The wound-contact layer of the pad has an atraumatic structure and ensures non-adhesion. Superabsorbent dressings are used for primary and delayed wound treatment and to prevent secondary wound infection by hospital-acquired microorganisms (soft tissue and bone injuries, burns, and purulent wounds).

The dressings are sterilized using radiation and are available in individual packaging.
